Last Minute Items to Bring on Your Wedding Day | Melinda Anita Photography, Hudson Valley Wedding Photographer

They say you can never be too prepared, and we wholeheartedly agree. You might think that you have your dream day all planned to the T, but there are a few things that you might be missing. Whether it is a small bobby pin or something as simple as glue, these are some of the things that you always need to have handy! Lucky for you, we’ve rounded up a list of some things that you probably forgot to include in your “must-haves” list.

 1.    Emergency kit -

You spend months, if not a year, planning the perfect wedding, but there’s always the inevitable chance of something going wrong on the big day. Band-aids, Advil, a sewing kit, super glue, hair spray, and safety pins are some of the things that you need to have in your bag at all times. You never know what you might need and when!

 2.    Brunch and snacks

In the midst of the hectic wedding day, it’s easy to forget to eat. But you don’t want to walk down the aisle with your stomach grumbling. Stock up on some snacks like mini sandwiches and fruits to enjoy during hair and makeup. Make sure to bring some along the way, especially if you are doing photos before your ceremony.

 3.    A small makeup kit

Whether you’ve had your makeup done professionally by a makeup artist or did it yourself, touch ups are necessary. Having a small makeup with some essentials like lipstick, mascara, blotting papers and concealer can help you keep the look fresh all day long. You can even go ahead and spice it up a little by changing the lipstick shade in the evening later!

 4.    A steamer

We cannot emphasize on how important this one this. There is absolutely nothing worse than finding out at the last minute that you have wrinkles and creases on the wedding dress or someone in your bridal party needs it. Having a steamer ready will help you get rid of them immediately and make sure the dress looks as good as new! This can be used for anything that needs a good press to look pristine!

 5.    Cute getting-ready robes

What bride doesn’t want cute pictures taken of herself and her bridesmaids while they all get ready and sip on mimosas? Go an extra step further by splurging on some separate getting-ready robes. Plus, robes will make it much easier to get into your dress, as you won’t have to worry about pulling your jumper over your head after you’re finally down with hair and makeup.

 6.    Portable speakers

To step it up even more, don’t forget to carry portable speakers! Whether you want to be relaxed or get the party started, music is always the best choice to set the mood. Plug in into your phone or an MP3 player, and start the playlist! We suggest beginning with soothing acoustic tunes and slowly progressing onto more energetic party songs! At the end of the day, it’s all part of the fun.

There are a dozen more things lying around the house that you may find useful, but these are some of the major one that you NEED keep, no matter what. You can either pack them up in a small bag yourself and have it ready in the hotel room or ask one of the bridesmaids to carry it along during the wedding.
